COOKIES

Cookies are small text files that are stored by a user's browser on their computer or mobile phone to allow websites to read and write information, such as personalization details and user preferences. Cookies are stored on the computer's hard drive, but they cannot access other information saved on the hard drive or obtain personal details such as email addresses. Cookies may be either "persistent" or "session" cookies. Persistent cookies remain valid until their set expiry date, while session cookies expire automatically when the user session ends, such as when the web browser is closed.

When accessing the FBTC website, a cookie is automatically stored on the user's computer system to speed up access and help track language preferences. FBTC uses temporary session cookies to maintain user sessions and direct the server to the next page to pull up. Such cookies are allocated only for the duration of the user's visit to the website and expire when the browser is closed.

FBTC does not use cookies to store or collect personal information, and their use of cookies does not impact user privacy. However, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 require users to consent to the storage and access of cookies (unless they are strictly necessary to provide a requested service). By using the FBTC website, users agree to the placement of cookies mentioned above on their computer.

Most browsers allow users to reject cookies, either all or just third-party cookies. To learn more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
