French Between the Commons Ltd. is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. 

This policy sets out the measures that the company has put in place to ensure that all staff and volunteers understand their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Safeguarding Procedures:

All staff at French Between the Commons Ltd. have undergone safeguarding training and receive regular updates to their knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

We have clear procedures in place for reporting any safeguarding concerns. 

Any member of staff or volunteer who has a concern about a child's welfare must report it immediately to the DSL. If the DSL is not available, the concern should be reported to the next designated member of staff.

If a concern is reported to French Between the Commons Ltd., we will follow the relevant procedures set out by the local authority and Wandsworth MASH, including making referrals where necessary.

We also work closely with other agencies to ensure that children's welfare is safeguarded, including the police child protection unit, NSPCC, and Operation Encompass.

 

Recruitment and Selection:

All staff who work with children at French Between the Commons Ltd. are subject to appropriate recruitment and selection procedures, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

 

Training:

All staff who work with children at French Between the Commons Ltd. are required to undertake safeguarding training. This includes understanding the signs of abuse and neglect, how to respond to concerns, and how to escalate concerns to the DSL. The company uses IHASCO for safeguarding training, and staff must achieve a certificate of aptitude before working with children.

 

Conclusion:

French Between the Commons Ltd. takes its responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people seriously. 

We ensure that all staff and volunteers understand their responsibilities and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to safeguard children's welfare.

We work closely with Wandsworth MASH and other agencies to ensure that children's welfare is safeguarded, and we have clear procedures in place to report any safeguarding concerns.
